Re: Wendouree mailer 2014

Collected from CD start of the week, fortunate to get what I ordered.
Asked Lita if I was to sacrifice one early as birthday coming up, her response was Malbec as it's an interesting wine. Make of that what you want.

Re: Wendouree mailer 2014

Being a Clare local needs some advantages especially on a awful winters day like today 4 degrees and raining, get the mailer sooner than most and have never missed on an order no matter what crayon mark I have. OK, it arrived in today's mail, on offer from the 2012 vintage Shiraz Mataro $40 (2011 $4...

Melb to Clare via great ocean road - winery recommendations

Family holiday late August to Melbourne thought we would come back via the Great Ocean Road, thinking I might be able to squeeze in a winery along the way if I don't pull over too many times through the Grampians area. Never been through the Geelong area and have very little to near nil experience o...

Re: Wendouree time....

OK, had access to Wendouree since the 2008 vintage (lucky me first born boys birth year, they will survive) and each year have sacrificed a bottle of most variations for early drinking if anything to get an understanding of the style and if it was something to persist with based on my current taste....

Back from the ancient cellar, times do a change though. A new roof is being put on the toilets. Fortunate to receive my full order which was 4 shiraz mataro, 6 shiraz, 4 malbec, 4 cabernet malbec, 6 cabernet, 3 muscut. Spoke with Lita who advised they are pleased with the wines, compared a little to...

A lot on 'junk' days around but this one deserves more attention.
For me the Leasingham Classic Clare, have a 6 pack of the 98 around the place. Still drinks nicely.
Black shiraz.
Don't mind the Bleasedale for a cheap quaffer and the majella is OK.

Ian

What's your thoughts on cellarability of this wine?
Picked up a few based on reports/success and being birth year of son thought it could be one to hold onto short to medium term (now to 2015).
