Re: Interesting Wine Facts and Trivia

Yeah the great-grandfather claim doesn't appear to be true - they seem to have a common ancestor, William Barton, but it splits out quite a bit from there; William Barton 1723-1793 Hugh Barton 1766-1854 Nathaniel Barton 1799-1867 Bertram Francis Barton 1830-1904 Bertram Hugh Barton 1858-1927 Derick ...

Re: Best NZ/AUS Chardonnay & Pinot Noir Offline - Fri 13 Oct

We had the standard 'Estate' Chardonnay, is around $38 or so. Other than a weird and wrong 2014 Chardonnay, I've not had anything from them that wasn't good. Pinot Noir is well worth a look and they did a straight Pinot Meunier in 2014 that I really enjoyed too. Not been to their CD, but I definite...

Great job with the wines Tim and with the food Nic. Thanks everyone for a fun night with some good wines. Definitely felt like the Chardonnay flights were stronger than the Pinot on the whole.

Is the glassware okay at the restaurant? Was running late this morning so had to take off without them. The pictures look decent on the website so hopefully I'm okay!

Out of interest does anyone have any Hoodles Chardonnay with a little age ie 3-4 plus, more if possible. Not of the 1er, but I have a 2004 of the standard Chard. Cam I am happy to try but I'm also personally interest in one of the 1st since I've never tried one and this was the first year I picked ...

Nice work. I got to go to the 6pm session and mostly align with your comments - didn't really like the Vat63 and I was a little less enthusiastic about the Belford (still liked it though) but otherwise spot on.

I'm more shocked he only has 3 bottles per producer Only have a relatively small total number of bottles and like it to be fairly diverse so pretty much all purchases are 1-2 bottles. Adding 6-12 bottles of a single wine isn't someth...

⋅  2015 Lake's Folly Chardonnay - Australia, New South Wales, Hunter Valley Flour, lemon, quite toasty on the nose. Rich fruit upfront on the palate, there is good texture but no doubt that the fruit and the oak grabs most of the attention here. 89/100 ⋅  2015 Lake's Folly Chard...

I got a pair but I'll probably bring the 2013 Les Chamois du Paradis as I haven't tried that vineyard before.
