Re: Napa Wineries

Hi Lotrazila My Wife and I did a trip to Napa in 2003 and we were lucky enough to have our wine guy in Columbus ring ahead and organise some tastings which is the only way to get into some of the more exclusive wineries. Our theme was big American Cabernet's. We stayed in a Chalet on the western slo...

I posted a similar question years ago. If you use the search function you should be able to find plenty of info on Sparkling Shiraz. See my post; m I used to drink it out of flutes, however, I now prefer a Shiraz glass as it allows more enjoyment of the nose. That is, if you can make it last without...

Have just arrived in Orange where it is nice and cool. Got a great tip from Stephen Doyle from Bloodwood on a driving short cut from just south of Coonabarabran to Dubbo which worked a treat! Had dinner at Lolli Redini's and it was sublime. Can't remember the exact dishes, however, I had the Tortoll...

Hi All,

I'm heading to Orange this weekend and wondered if anyone had some suggested cellar door visit's?

I tried searching through some previous posts and found this thread. However when I saw the date I thought it needed updating.

I heard that a Dan Murphy's Store in Brisbane got 18 bottles. I saw one in the glass cabinet, with all the other treasures, for $370 in any 6 purchase. Wished I could afford it.

Shi-raz and not Shi-rahz. If you want to say Shi-rahz call it Syrah! It's a pet hate of mine and I think of it as wine wanker confusion.

Zinfandel is the New Shiraz!

I love them and am particularly fond of the Cape Mentelle. Can't work out why we don't see more of them in Aus. I'm sure their time will come.

2004 (I think) Charles Cimicky Trumps Shiraz - Very sexy little drink around $16-17. Elvis, I tried this with high expectations after enjoying the 2002 vintage, but found it too simple and cloyingly sweet in comparison to that vintage, very disappointing. There are so many good reds around in the u...

Geez Brucer. Steady on!

Fantastic effort, all round.

Now a question re:

This is much more fruit driven, and the fruit is fantastic. I love this wine, and so has everyone I have given it to.

Any idea on a drinking window?
