Re: What is going to happen to Marius

Roger would be a very busy man atm So busy that he's charged my card twice, called up straight away to apologise for the mistake and offered to refund me straight to my bank account - how good is that. I had a bit of a yarn with Roger while he's on the line; I've explained myself that I wasn't tryi...

Re: Wendouree 2020 Mailer

Red crayon, ordered 6 of everything last year, only $600 worth of stuff turned up - nothing contains cab or shiraz while some newbies got everything. Really rubbed it in when you see bottles popping up in auctions.

Re: Replacement Wendouree

I've sent them a letter couple of years ago with photos in it. Wasn't expecting anything especially I've told them it was auction stock.

Wasn't expecting anything but a bottle did arrive in the mail...though not like for like but definitely a nice gesture.

Re: Fridge Regas

Did they ask for a receipt/proof of purchase for the warranty service?

Re: 2019 Wendouree Mailer

My missus done the same thing this year and received a similar response but lo and behold, a form appeared, order processed and couple of bottles delivered.

Re: Moving with wine

Yank them out of the fridge then plonk them straight into cardboard boxes and only move them in the car during the morning or later at night. I don't think a sudden spike to 20-25deg will do any real damage to the wines but I'm sure 30+ even in a couple of hours isn't going to do any good to them th...

Re: It finally happened - Rockford Stone Waller

Factor in the cost of getting to and from Barossa might make it financially viable to get it via the secondary market.

Re: The big question - stemware

For those who own both Vinum and Zalto's, are the Zalto's worth the premium over the Vinum's? I've tried the Zalto on a number of occasions, while it felt more delicate and seems to be better blown (built?), I thought the difference was more in their shape itself.

Re: 1998 bin 389 - bad bottle?

Would love to join an offline - I'm in the Sydney CBD. How do I find out about that? Sign up to the next Auswine Sydney one...although it seems like there hasn't been one for awhile. Better yet, plan it as that'll guarantee you a spot :). Or kick it off and maybe someone will help you sort it out.....

Re: It finally happened - Rockford Stone Waller

This is a winery I have given up on really. I love their Cabernet but am over the hoops that one has to jump through to simply go on the list then to access Basket press etc i have to keep ordering for years, forget it especially when as you said I can get access to the wines through friends. Stunn...

Re: If you were starting your cellar again...

If I can start again I'd probably resist buying a glut of winess off Vinomofo and its ilk. Out of 1500 or so bottle, I'd say close to a third are leftovers from those buying binge that are either about the peak, have peaked or falling off the cliff quickly within the next year or two.
