Re: December 2017 Purchases
So far: 2013 Christopher Tynan Wines Cabernet Sauvignon Meleagris Gallopavo Vineyard (2 bottles) Bought purely based on the wine’s scarcity (only 70 cases made), Robert Parker’s review and corresponding 100-point score. The 100 points aside, I have to say, it was in my opinion one of the most “compe...

Re: Serrat 2016 (2015 Vintage) Releases
Tried the 2015 Pinot Noir the other night at Bentley Restaurant in Sydney. Wonderful purity of fruit and overall balance. A great wine that will no doubt be even better with a few years in bottle. A "must buy" for me. I ordered 6 of this and 6 SV.

Re: Wine Clubs
No, unfortunately SQN only deliver to a US address (Iike most US wineries do). Luckily I got to travel to the US for work a few times in the past and was able to have my allocation sent to the US office of the company I work for. I then took them back home as checked luggage. Plus I also have a brot...

Yep. Order placed. Only price rise I believe is for the straight Shiraz.

Re: Right, what are we/you drinking now .. tonight
Bremerton Selkirk Shiraz 2003 Wasn't expecting too much from this $20 bottle at 13 years of age. I was wrong. Although the back label suggests drinking this young or cellaring it for up to 4+ years it is in fact still drinking superbly right now. Its youthful colour is a preview of what follows - b...

Re: Wacky Wine Packaging
No wacky packaging really needed to sell these Sine Qua Non wines as they are some of the most sought after in the world - the specific releases shown gained 400+% in value almost overnight. Manfred and team just package their "products" beautifully for the love of it and to do their beaut...

Re: The perfect "cool" shipping solution?
Ditto. Agreed! Holding off until cooler weather comes is my usual approach. Occasionally though there are times when one might not want to miss out on newly released and "soon to sell out" treasures. In that case waiting too long might not be a good option. That raises the question though ...

The perfect "cool" shipping solution?
I just stumbled across a shipping solution seemingly known as FedEx Cold Box, which is available in the US. Details here: m I'm very intrigued! Couldn't find much about this specific solution (for wine) on then official Fed-Ex website. I'm thinking this would be a no-brainer though for most wine afi...
