Those Glaezters are everywhere...
Very interesting that it's a Shiraz from Tasmania... Come to think of it I don't think I've actually tried any Tasmanian Shiraz; I'd be interested to sample this, but the JW means prices are going to likely go through the stratosphere

Re: Experience with a new Vintec
I have a Vintec and while I'm generally very happy with it, I can't help but feel the design, well, sucks.
there is, what seems, acres of wasted space and I end up chucking bottles in willy nilly.. Not ideal but it does the trick I suppose

Re: Melbourne CBD offline - Sat Oct 15th - other varietals
Hi folks
I've been looking for a Melbourne based tasting group for a while now. Obviously missed the 15th but would be eager to come along to future events. I work in East Melbourne and can weekdays or weekends
Thanks
Kessler

A few from me. What has everyone else been drinking this weekend or lately? 2011 Pizzini Pinot Grigio 2006 David Traeger Shiraz Until not too long ago I had been enjoying the 2003 vintage of this, which has mellowed and softened up nicely and will still be drinking beautifully by the way. This is t...

Re: Pairing suggestions
Something else that crossed my mind was a grenache - something with a little sweetness but good structure and acid. I had a look in my Johnson PWB and he recommends (aside from Bordeaux) Rioja, so a tempranillo (although I honestly can't recommend any good Australian Temp)

Re: Pairing suggestions
Well with the lamb the obvious suggestion would be a cabernet, but that syrup glaze adds another dimension Something with good acidity but also some palate weight - A Coonawarra Cab might be a good bet although I'd be looking at a more recent vintage The shiraz would I suspect need to be a cooler cl...

Re: The shameful acts of Constellation & the local Governmen
I always try and avoid wineries that are part of the big companies 'Portfolio' and now seemingly for good reason. It's a shame that it takes something like this to justify my reasoning for trying to buy from independent or family owned wineries We all know that money is essentially the key factor an...

A Quick Hello
Good morning everyone, I've returned to the board after a fair absence with a new username, purely because I'd forgotten what my old one was As for what I drink; Well I tend to stick to Victoria as a region as it's local and I love it's diversity. 'Affordability' is another keyword as financial cons...

2008 Terra Felix Chardonnay Terra Felix really has little to do with its previous life as a Tallarook second label these days having new owners and winemaker, Terry Barnett (ex Brown Brothers), and based near Nagambie to make their commercial range wines. They are competing in a tough market, but t...

I've read a lot of your posts Bick (in my previous guise) and always had you down as a decent poster. However, even if you weren't I'd be wishing you nothing but good luck
