Its Tulip Time in the Southern Highlands and cold and wet! Crazy weather - air condish on cold one day and heating the next, but at least much of the wine growing regions have been getting very good rain.... at long bloody last. Its good red drink weather, but was ok fro c-through earlier in the wee...

Before I knew it, 3/4 of the bottle had 'evaporated' much to my shock. Bloody terrific now, at 11 years...

Interesting thread and it's great to have someone here to explain the other side of the situation. The real issue here is "Penfolds" - the brand. Because of its reputation, the large percentage of the buyers are not not wine geeks and probably would not know the difference between GMC and ...

I have an HTC Touch HD. Fantastic phone with with all you could want. Its basically an iPhone and Blackberry (with inbuilt GPS) all in one.

Well its now official. We are in a new Financial Year with lower personal tax rates, so we all have more money to spend on wine.

You know what this is all about...... so pleas elet us know what you have been drinking.

Heathcote is not the most friendly and 'open' wine region for a visit. Many are owned by 'weekend warrior' winemakers that don't look like they care to mcuh about attracting visitors. Here are my picks... Jasper Hill - appointment required Munari Downing Estate Flynns Wine (Good for lunch too) Heath...

Package 2 - the Taltani is certainly drinkable and the Dog Ridge Shiraz is respectable and easy drinking.

They make a huge difference (as do all good glasses) to the bouquet, but in my experience, they do not affect the taste, in comparison to other quality glasses that cost a quarter of the price.

Still, they look great and I do use them on special occasions, and the clones for everyday drinking.

Daz, Agree with your comments about the importance of blokes having a regular PSA test, and the fact that prostrate cancer is virtually the male equivalent of breast cancer in women. Possibly they should start having 'brown ribbon" days to highlight the problem. Good luck with your "cookin...
