Heard conflicting reports and your notes suggest not as good as previous releases...but then the wines weren't decanted which wouldn't have helped!? A little birdie tells me James Hallid...

Without a doubt Gianna I think it will not only go 10 years but improve further. Everybody else felt it was too young still. A true Aussie legend. Normal caveats re: provenance, old bottles, etc apply.

+1 or a German Auslese/Spatlese from great maker like Donnhoff, Fritz Haag, Prum, Schaefer, etc.

It's oft been cited that Penfolds year-in year-out makes 8-10,000 cases of Grange (still way below the 1st growths who make up to 30,000 cases). I remember in late 80s when I worked ITB the 5 pallets of 83 Grange sitting in the warehouse = 3600 bottles!). So 400 barrels sounds about right.
