Friends at the Hyatt and Balthazar in the CBD have great winelists, but I'd have to agree with waitersfriend, Da Brunos has some great meals on offer and BYO is a bonus.

96 Salitage Pemberton.
Awesomely funky, soily, truffle nose opening up with hints of bush honey. The fruit and acid had calmed down but held a luxurious mouth feel, with a hint of wet wood and very fine tannins. A great wine, well aged just about spot on now...

The '07 reds will be fantastic from the Margaret River region. I have tried some Cab's and Shiraz', which although very young were fruity,dense, inky wines and just screaming for some age.

Funny you mention the St Henri, I opened a '73 last weekend and the first sniff made me think the wine was faulty. I decanted it just the same and not long after the aromas of spice developed and the wine really open up. It had definate age and the fruit had mellowed, but was still grippy and silky ...
