That would seem to go against the whole "no point in cellaring cheap wine" maxim.

Getting awfully confused here :(

Dom by the glass seems to be in the lead at the moment.

Someone also suggested that the 1986 Grange would be a good buy at 1/2 price based on the following price:

Definitely, have Dom by the glass. I think the others are quite expensive. Ok what about anything other than Dom by the glass seeing as I already have a dozen of 98 sitting at home after recent overseas trips (god bless Singapore airport!). Almost feel like ordering 5 glasses and seeing how I get c...

I don't know why I'm replying, but aaaanyway:- Are you planning to enjoy these with fine food in a restaurant? If so, the 50% off price you have listed offers good value for almost any of the wines you have listed. If however you are planning to take any bottles off premises to enjoy you can find b...

Help with wine for restaurant

At the moment I can get any of the following wines at 1/2 price at the restaurant that has this winelist. Is there anything in particular that would stand out as being good value at 50% off? All I have been able to find is the NV Laurent Perrier Rose. Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers selec...

So for dinner last night: 1998 le petit cheval st emilion grand cru saint-émilion Very closed at first but began to show itself over the course of dinner. Correct glassware really did help. Very smooth and much di...

Interesting.

No idea whether it is compressor or thermoelectric, and I don't think the guy at Harvey Norman would know either!

Wine Fridges

I have been able to get Harvey Norman down from $800 to $700 on this fridge: m Does anyone have any experience with this product? Is it likely to create excess vibrations or draw all the humidity out of the air? All I am looking to do is keep some of my more expensive (~$40 per bottle) wines cool so...

I guess so, but the chains all used to carry it under the Seagrams or Continental brand. I've tried a few independents with no luck.

Crows Nest is actually the Willoughby store. Thats my local. Its about the smallest Dan's I've been to either here or in Vic, but it apparently sells more wine than all the rest put together ! Goodo. I've really been struggling to find some Kirschwasser to have with my fondue this week. Hopefully a...

Cheers for that Cuttlefish. I'll have to have a look at the Hornsby store one day; hope it's larger than Crows Nest.

Next thing is a wine fridge!

This forum is run by a wine retailer so I don't really think it is fair to discuss the competition here.

I'm buying spirits and beer and maybe some cheap $24 per case cleanskin.

Mount Pleasant Philip Shiraz 2002 Garnet red in colour, the wine displays aromas of red fruits supported by a hint of spices earth and leather. Restrained flavours of red fruits and spices are present on the medium bodied palate, finishing with subtle drying tannins and a hint of coffee. Score: 8/1...
