Nothing to do in retirement...

Post by TORB »

I guess that must apply to Brian. He now has far too much time on his hands. For many years my number of posts were significantly more than his. Since he has retired, he has been rapidly catching up and will soon overtake me.

Anyone care to hazard a guess as to when it will be?

One guess allowed per person, and the closest, neatest :P entry will win a reasonable bottle of wine from my cellar.

Let's have some fun. For those that have been lurking, now is the time to come out of the wine closet.

Ric, are you assuming I won't attempt to rig the outcome? 8)

The only reason I'm catching up is that you are being slack and not posting much here.

Deano,

Brian retired just over a year ago.

Brian,

I wont try and rig the outcome. There is no motivation to do so.

The reason I haven't been posting as much is that my site keeps me pretty busy. Even doing this post has stopped "production" of the draft of Chapter One, which you should get in the next hour or so.
Cheers

8th of October 2007 is my guess

NB: Be aware anyone guessing after me will have to contend with the fact that since Brian ver much respects my every opinion he may in fact rig the results just so i can win the bottle of 71 Grange TORB promised above. (im interpretting his vague prize illustration)

No-one actually said it had to be an actual date so my answer is "when he is good and ready to!"

PS It doesn't have to be a '71 Grange. I quite like the '86

November 7th 2007.

And, I'll be needing that bottle of wine after I blow all my money on a Derby Day/Melbourne Cup trip....

For those that are picking October dates, I should let it be known that I'll be away from home for 10 days in October and most likely won't be posting here during that time.

Maybe Ric should clarify the rules on number of guesses allowed? I'd say one per person, but let the October optimists have another try?

Sounds reasonable. Anyone who guessed October can have another go. Those that guessed up till 15 Nov can extend their guess by two weeks should they so desire.

Okay, in that case change mine to 27th November 2007 - too bad if it does happen in October though.

Hmm that reminds me that next year is a leap year :!:

The contest has to take into account TORB will keep posting - so why not make it a date that only turns up once every 4 years so ..

It's 29 February 2008 for me
Gee that was scientific sole basis most unlikely date
