Has a ripe fruity taste with medium (?) tannins and a slighty acidic finish. Not overly oaked and has a taste of pepper as well. Very good drinking for the price - I loved it.
Definitely with you on your first tasting note. This wine and the 2002 Peter Lehmann Cabernet are our house reds at the moment. Cannot beat it for the price! Still have a few bottles of the 1998's of both and they are drinking wonderfully right now and I can see a similiar life for the 2002's.
