Jamie, bugger the TNs, I'm looking fwd to getting up there in a couple of weeks!

I promise I'll post some TNs, order up though word is the 2002 BP is very special and when it's released the 2002 Cabernet is also excellent.
Cheers - Steve

I live in Brisbane and was on the Rockford mailing list for the first time last year and managed to buy some '01 Rifle Range Cab. The strange thing is that I haven't received the newsletter yet this year. Could somebody tell me what's good this year? I am thinking about buying some '02 Rifle Range cab, maybe '02 Rod & Spur shiraz cab and '02 Basket Press shiraz if I am lucky. I would really appreciate some impressions. Also, if I miss out on the '02 Rifle Range, should I go for '01 Turkey Flat cab or wait for the '02 vintage? Thanks.

Rockford's don't do all their mailings at once. The longer members get first hit at availability and the newer members get a shot a couple of months later.

Buy the 02 Rifle Range if at all possible, it's excellent. Just be very quick with your order when you get your mailer later this year.

I certainly was impressed by the '01 Rifle Range last year. It is nothing like any of the cab sauvs I've tasted before. How about the '02 Rod & Spur? Are they worth buying?

I had the pleasure of going there yesterday. The budget got belted !
They STILL had the SVS releases available, but no longer for tasting.
The new releases were simply divine. The 2002 RR cab is very polished, and the Basket Press as hoped and expected. Black Shiraz was`surprisingly lighter and more forward than I expected, but will no doubt build with time in bottle - mothers milk.

Highlight for me was the 1998 Vintage Port - beautifully integrated, it was quite spectatular

By the time I loaded up all these, plus the Alicante to keep peace with her, the national debt took a another leap.

Gee I love that place....

2002 Rod & Spur will not be available until early next year. The 2002 is even better than the 2001 Rifle Range... gorgeous texture.

I couldn't resist. I cracked my first bottle of 2002 BP tonight, and I loved it. It is a ripper. Not too intense, just perfect. Balanced, harmonious, long. I wish they would let me buy more.
