Rockford Black Shiraz

Post by ads_11 »

I am aware that the corks in these wines are very hit and miss.. Does anyone have any recent experience with the 2003/2005 disgorgement they could pass on? Are they well past it?

Many thanks

Have had both in the last year and the bottles I experienced were no where near past it. Still going strong with many years ahead of them. Some fruit left but going into that savoury/gamey phase which I love. The corks were fine as well.

I've bought at least 12 six packs over the years and never had a leaker.....

No leakers. All fine corks. Only buying 1-3 at that time. Recently buying 6 but haven't popped these yet to comment of statistical failures.

Thanks Mike and Andrew and Deano

I will be heading up to the cellar door next week so might grab a couple of the latest but I have also been looking at the secondary market for some older ones. Just a bit worried that the corks will have let it down, but so far it seems positive. Spose I will never know till I try ! :D
