Advice needed - Wine Storage (Managed)

Dear all,

I live in Singapore but would like to buy and store wine in Australia, I may come to Australia once a year to bring the wine back. Therefore, I need a reliable wine storage company to managed my wine for me. The storage cost must be reasonable and competitively priced too.

What are your recommendations?

Any more detail such as which city? Do you need access at unusual hours? May help focus a response.

And avoid the guys who move your wine around. Best to have your own locker in my experience.

Where can I get "managed" own locker? I need my wine to be managed, that's the main thing. Location may or may not be that critical though Perth is preferred.

I was thinking more like storing the wine in Australia and whenever I go to Australia for vacation or business trip, I'll bring 1 or 2 cases back home.

For just 1 or 2 cases, why dont you just buy them when you are here? Are you thinking of storing more than 10 cases or just the 1 or 2 to take home?

I've use Winex (used to be called AWX) for several years, never had a problem with them. They have storage facility under a bank in Osborne Park, Perth. It's also used by several distributors.

The fact is I already have 1 case from an online auction and it is not possible to visit Australia now to bring them back.

So I guess the best way is to put in a storage facility first. Once that is established, I may continue to buy more in the future.

I use MW Wines in Abbotsford Melbourne.

They charge by the bottle, so it doesn't matter if you have 1 bottle or 1,000 bottles, you only pay what for the space you use.

I am also overseas, and have wines regularly delivered to them, from my regular retailer and direct from wineries. Generally very happy with their service. Can check my cellar on line anytime, and can organise withdrawals and delivery online. Sometimes they can be slow to get new wines logged into the database, like a couple of weeks, but that is my only negative comment.

Swee, in my experience, Langtons are usually happy to store the wines you have purchased from their auctions free of charge in their cooled wharehouse as long as you need for free.
