Seeking info on 84 Lindemans Cawarra Claret

Post by wine bloke »

Calling all cars,

can anyone give me some info on this wine. I have searched far and wide, but alas to no avail.

After my recent run in, with old dirty bottles of excellent booze, I think it's going to be opened very soon.

Yes, yes, yes, I am a glutten. But just remember some people are physically fit and some people are just plain piss fit.

Cheers, Wine Bloke.

From my old Len Evans Complete Book on Australian Wine I can't find much, but I suppose it's better than nothing - I hope it's useful.

Carwarra was originally a non-vintage red blend, initially in the '50s from the Hunter Valley, and later a multi-region blend. The first vintage wine appeared in 1975, although the book hints that it was still really a NV blend (I guess you could still get away with this back then) - predominantly Cabernet and made for early drinking.

Cheers,
Ian
