Here's a series of quotations, just suited to putting under your signoff.

Thats an easy one and I didn't use Google for the answer.
According to page 63 of Uncle Johns Supremely Satisfying Bathroom Reader (the 14 edition in the series) which I just happened to be reading this morning, it was Oscar Wilde.
He also said "The English have the miraculous power of turning wine into water."
