Decanted immediately before service. 13% alc.
Purple/black in colour, ruby at the rim. Initially modest nose, with developed blackberry fruits, rose and violets, tar, coffee grounds and mocha. The palate follows through with many of these characters. Tannins are fully integrated and only slightly grippy, and there's a satin texture. Acid is modest and the finish is medium to long, with most of the elements in balance and flowing through. No shortage of flavour, although very little of it is primary, and there's a touch of leather towards the back palate.
I wasn't sure what to expect with this wine, and that's what I got - something outside my regular drinking experience. That's a good thing

Cheers
