Picked up a couple of bottles of the 2018 Lethbridge TBA Riesling and the 18 Cirillo 1850 Semillon. Both going to be tasted with my friend in Amsterdam.

Also bought a Kanta Riesling to try at the same time - I like Muller and have good memories about his Bela Riesling from Slovakia (where his wife come from). Hopefully the Auz version is as good.

Tried these at the cellar door on the weekend. The Hilltops is a riper, fuller bodied wine, other two are very good examples of suave cool climate shiraz (although from a warmer year). The S/V is delicious with length to burn

An old school, v long ageing St Emilion that they stopped making after the 2011 vintage. getting harder to find (and more expensive)

Very true. Drink a lot of these as my wine group has an affinity with the style .

Thanks for the note, Matt!

I've not tried either the Hilltops or the O'Riada so am keen to sample.
Tim Kirk has an interesting talk on YouTube where he mentions that the Hilltops is a warmer district than Murrumbateman, which provides some insurance against the frost years in the latter if I recall correctly.

12 x Wines By Geoff Hardy 2018 K1 Adelaide Hills Cabernet Sauvignon. Not sure if the Geoff Hardy name will be on future releases after his daughter Bec took over the reins recently as Geoff takes a step back. This and the Pertaringa vineyards have flown under the radar for too long. Nice people too.

Hi Brodie.

I'd be interested to know how these are holding up.

Cheers Con.

I found my first Basque Country wine, a 2017 Mendraka Bizkaiko Txakolina (12%). I found it way down south in a rarely visited store - it was the last bottle in a bin end. I'm thrilled to find something new.

Cheers .................. Mahmoud.

I rather like Txakolina ... I tried a bunch on holiday in Bilbao and San Sebastian (back in the old days when going somewhere for a holiday was still a thing people did), no idea which ones, usually just by the glass to accompany pintxos !

That's quite the score - lucky you!

I added a few bottles of 2019 CVNE Monopole Blanco for summer drinking. I also bought a bottle of Xavier Vignon's N/V 'Arcane Le Fou' for curiosity sake as it an unusual Grenache-based Chateauneuf look-a-like made from numerous parcels in the area and a blend of several vintages.

Cheers ................... Mahmoud.
