Hi All,

Anyone interested in an offline on Friday 5th June?

Venue: Scopri
Time: 7pm
Theme: Pinot Noir & Chardonnay

Happy to change the date, venue and/or theme if anyone has other suggestions.

Actually going to Coonawarra that day for the weekend. It would have to be another day for me. Other than the 5th, I'm pretty flexible. Scopri is fine

Pity you aren't heading over in July for Cellar Dwellers. Most of the wineries open up wines from the last decade or two.

Yes, went to Cellar Dwellers a couple of years ago and it was very good. Have a function at Wynn"s weekend after next, then back there again in early June for Bowen Estate's 40th vintage celebrations! Also did Cab Celebration weekend there last Oct, which was excellent, so the road between Melbourne and Penola is getting a good work out.

Penola is just that awkward distance from both Adelaide and Melbourne. I do like to stop for lunch at the royal mail though. Great place to get a bite.

Unfortunately I can't make the 5th.

Just staying OT for the moment, for an SA ex-pat like myself who visits Adelaide regularly, Penola is in a perfect location :lol:

And, yes, Royal Mail gets a workout as well

Unfortunately I can't make the 5th either. Would have loved to come along. Scopri is a great venue, and very wine group friendly.

grapeobserver was previously in on the 5th. I've PMed him to see if he can still make it on the 19th.

Still room for a few more, but we should probably limit to 10-12 people, otherwise we'll be drinking from shot glasses. If you're interested in attending, please raise your hand. We'd love to have you.

Excellent.

The only problem for me may be the theme. Chardonnay is no issue, but Pinot Noir is 1.4% of my cellar... :oops:

No problem Michael. I've got 0% Chardonnay in my cellar, but 16.2% Pinot Noir. Our cellars complement each other.

I've contacted Scopri and they're going to give us the private dining room upstairs. They'll provide a 4 course meal matched to our wines including corkage at $85 per person, with 2 glasses each.
