Re:

Not found a straight cab sav that does it for me under $15. Shiraz is a lot easier to find a good wine at a cheaper price. Cab Sav is not so easy. Cab/Merl If on a good special, Cullen’s Ellen Bussell Annie’s Lane Jameson’s Run (on good vintage) Woodlands Cabernet Merlot is aro...

Talijancich are great, they sell quite a range of fortifieds. Try their '1962' Solero while you're there. There used to be a winery on the main road where you could take your own container and they would fill it for you. Might have been Twin Hills, or Highway Wines? Compared with Talijancich though...

Your description of this wine definitely got my interest so I did a bit of searching. Certainly the methods used to make the wine are an interesting combination. It would certainly be interesting to try this over the next 5-10 years. I came across this post from Roy Hersh (well known in the Port wor...

i don't have much drinking experience in this area (yet!!). anyway, i recently finished a morris liqueur tawny port and a morris liqueur muscat. in my opinion they are fabulous wines (especially for price/quality) - i must admit i didn't make any tasting notes. i went out and bought a couple more bo...
