In the new NOFX record, Fat Mike references Ch. Margeaux - the 94, not the 96. Interesting that a renowned punk rocker knows his 1st Growths. Still, he did once sing that he was 'Living the Good Life provided by punk'

I'm absolutely positive that this will be of no consequence to anyone, unless there's any other aging punk rockers out there. Ho hum.

Not Punk but rock n roll, Maynard James Keenan from rock band Tool is a massive wine fan. Bought a barrel of 1998 Grange and also makes his own wine.

Whilst on the topic anyway .

Iggy Pop's choice of drink was some red wine before playing his set with The Stooges when they were here on the festival circuit.

I believe Maynard's good friend Tori Amos is partial to a drop, although as noted, classification as "punk" depends on where you stand.

Bob Dylan, who went punk (in the sense I take the word) at Newport in the 60's by picking up an electric guitar was well known for his love of merlot during the "Planet Waves" era. Indeed, so much so that he allowed the name "Planet Waves" to be used on a merlot that was sent to him. Don't know what it was like then, but last I heard, it's crap with a high price tag.

On the home front musically, Glen Richards of Augie March seems to be a wine enthusiast. Enjoys O'Leary Walker.

Leave Glen alone It takes fragility to be the best Oz wordsmith of his generation.

Somewhat seriously though, Dan Kelly has done a great job talking Glen out of some dummy spits since he joined the live Augie line up. Think that's his role more than being another musician on stage.

I think Creeping out Sara has gotten Teagan and Sara fans in a bit of a twist. I'd love to share a 94 Margeaux with him too. Judging by his house (there's some pics on the net), he's definitely good for it....
