Insulating a cupboard

A change in circumstances means that my beloved wine fridge is soon to be homeless. After weighing up some options it seems the best thing to do is insulate the cupboard where my plonk currently resides... I figured if I insulate, put a cooler and humidifier in there, it might just work
And before you ask, no, there is nowhere else to put the sodding fridge. My wife is a nazi. Only without the jackboots, more's the pity.

As long as you get the insulation right it will work. You need a vapour barrier(heavy duty plastic will work) min. 50mm polystyrene, then line it with blue board. Pick a cooler and take it from there.
By the time you do all this it will cost about the same as a Wine fridge if not more.
Don't forget the solid core door.

'One solution is to dispense with the wife, and retain the wine fridge. Wine....wife....not much difference, is there?
Just joking. I commisserate with your loss.

Personally I'd go with the wine. Measure up your cupboard, you may be able to put a front venting fridge inside it, Save you a bit if money, which should placate the wife.
Good luck

wave the cost flag at your wife and she might change her mind.
or else soundproof the cupboard and lock her in there while you drink all your wine
