Hi all,
Has anyone tried the lastest Normans Chais Clarendon Cab and Sh 01, $29.95?
How about Leasingham Classic Clare Cab 93, $54.95?
Seppelt Drumborg Cab 99, 32.95?
Gaia 2001, 54.95?
Moss Wood Amy's Cab 2002, $42.95?
P.L. Mentor 99, 29.95 ?
Reynell B.Press Cab 2000, $45 ?
Any TN's would be much appreciated, and given that I haven't had time to look around for it is $79.95 an okay price for Diana Madeline 2001? Prices everywhere in Sydney seem to be on the rise again, is this true across the board?
Should have some notes up for the next Sunday report from Burgundy.
Much appreciate any help with this list. All the best,
simm

Simm,
The Cullen price looks OK. I think I paid about that upon release and it literally walked out the door. I'd grab it while its still available (I got the same ad yesterday and was thinlking of grabbing some more).
As for TN's , can't help you there.

P.S. Was that a W.Soc. ad or from somewhere else?

$80 is a fine price for the Diana Madeline. It was one of the top wines i tasted in 2003. To me it represents the essence of concentrated Cabernet made to last. Pure perfumed and concentrated blackcurrant fruit supported by malty, pencil shaving like oak with noticable but balanced acidity. A classic that will be a dream in 10+ years.
Cheers Cameaux

I tried this at the cellar door in October. Here are my brief notes:
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Shiraz and Malbec: coconut liquor, 14.0%, vanilla, dark fruits, some confectionary notes. Early drinker but could possibly do with another year in the bottle, terrific length. Seems a bit overripe, almost meaty, drink 2004-2007. 89pts

Simm,
The 93 was not exactly a great year and I wouldn't pay that price for it in a pink fit when better vintages are available for less.
Not surprised at Linc comment about the mentor being a bit overripe, their top end wines have been headed in that direction for awhile - pushing the envelope.

Thanks Ric,
I thought as much, especially after having tried the 1997, and seeing how it already looked to be going down-hill.
