Seppelt 1999 St. Peters Shiraz

Great Western, Victoria. 14% A/V

Dark garnet with a deep, almost impenetrable core. Gorgeous nose of white pepper, concentrated black fruits and perfectly judged savoury/malty oak. In the mouth this corker displays creamy old vine fruit, outstanding texture, a good dollop of new oak, excellent acidity and a substantial tannin structure. Of medium to full body, this beautifully constructed, well-balanced Shiraz carries everything off with a mighty finish of some considerable length. For a wine approaching 5 years of age, there's amazing vibrancy and youthfulness. A few years in the cellar will see the tannins soften and provide even greater enjoyment for a decade or more thereafter. A classic Aussie Shiraz. Just Outstanding! Oh, almost forgot, and went just so well with rare sesame beef with baby asian greens.
