2002 Orlanda St. Helga Riesling (Eden Valley) - commercial and well-priced, but excellent, fragrant, refreshing riesling with good depth of flavour and length. Shows up some more pricey rieslings!

2002 Yarra Burn bubbly - Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and a touch of Pinot Meunier. Fresh fruit, very smooth, creamy, clean acid, some 'fresh bread" aromas, very drinkable Christmas fare (dangerously so!).

2000 Stonier Reserve Pinot Noir - once in a while Australian Pinot repays the often-disappointed search! Rich pinot fruit nose, good brick-red colour, clean acid, mouth-filling depth of flavour (but still a PN, not wannabe shiraz or CS), very silky in the mouth, reasonable length (possibly the weakest point). A VERY enjoyable pinot!

2002 Yarra Burn Cabernets (Cab Sauv, Merlot and Cab Franc) - just a cellar-door tasting, but this impresses. Briary cab nose, almost perfumed, deep pure ruby colour, beautiful fruit, flavour balance for a very young wine, has an excellent future. Bought a few for 5-7 years down the track.
