Good day all,

I have a question regarding a cleanskin shiraz that I recently purchased and i am trying to determine what wine it is, and if anyone has any ideas as to what it could be.

The facts:
Made by Kilikanoon
2006 Barossa Shiraz

The only information that I can find regarding Kilikanoon's vineyards in the Barossa is that they are used to make the top end Greens shiraz, R Reserve and Testament Shiraz.

Does anyone know if mr mitchell had excess in 2006 from the Barossa that he turned into a cleanskin?

It is a great drop and just considering if i should load up on it.

Cheers Paul

Possibly leftovers from a subscribers label called the Prophecy, prior vintages sold for about $20 I think.

If it is a great drop, why do you need to know what it is before you stock up?

My partner's good friend was the Marketing Manager at Kilikanoon and we were offered some cleanskins She said that they were made by their Vineyard Manager/Viticultralist with the help of Kevin Mitchell, their wine maker. It was 2006 Shiraz 95% Barossa / 5% Baroota. It was aged 18 months in French and American Oak.

Not sure if this is what you purchased, but we bought some and it was pretty good - but much better when left open for 24 hours.
