For a village wine this Excellent pinot noir would shame many a Burgundian producer's Premier and Grand Cru.
Still a vibrant crimson, only aggressive coaxing and considerable time revealed this wine's true personality. Haunting nuances of game, damson plum, nutmeg and spring flowers eventually eminate from the glass. Mortet 's reknown for full extraction is evident on a rounded, silky medium/full palate resplendent with sweet black fruits, asian spices, a little sappiness and melting fine-grained tannins riddled throughout a lengthy departure. 5+ years would do this wine no harm at all.
