Mates, How's the '99 Lehmann Mentor ?

Post by Mishy »

Hi there guys,
I'm back and I'm still hunting Aussie wines, I'm beginning to think I should've been an Aussie  .
I know I've read happy thoughts on Mentors past, the '98 and the '96 have been posted about favourably here and on other forums. Unfortunately in my searches I still can't find any info on the '99, and two cases just entered my wine shop today - so I bought a couple.
Was I crazy, an incredible risk-taker, or just plain savvy  ?
Your thoughts, and any TNs would make my day :D !
Cheers,
Mishy

Winestate Magazine rated it quite highly - sounded delish from their description. I think it was in the second last issue with the big cabernet tasting. Haven't tried it myself.

Mishy Mishy Mishy........(sorry I couldn't resist)

A well known wine journo here rates this wine at 17.6/20 and says drink 2004-2007. Email me at justin@blackburnejoyce.com.au and I'll send you the URL to his website (prefer not to post it here) where you can order his wine annual where he rates most our our wines every year with back vintage ratings going back about 10 years per wine. Good reference for those starting out with Ozzy wines.

Hi Mishy,

I can't believe I am sending a note all the way to Oz for you to read when I live 120km away from you! I just found some 98 Stonewell at the Park Royal Liquor store in very limited quantity. You may want to have apeak at it if you like Peter Lehman's high end wines.

Cheers,

Francois
