Can anyone shed some light into how the following are faring?
- 01 Coriole Mary Kathleen Cab Merl/Cab Franc
- 00 Majella C/Sauv
- 93 Mitchelton Wines C/Sauv
- 90 Mitchelton Reserve C/Sauv
- 98 Zema Estate Coonawarra C/Sauv.

I have bottles and bottles of the vintages as handed down by a former colleague and although I feel the Mitchelton's will be close to (if not past) use by dates, I'd like to know your thoughts!

If you have so many bottles of each of these wines why not open one of each so you can form your own opinions? :?

This is very good. Just re-released by the winery last year.

Depends how they have been delivered/cellared. From my stocks, no big hurry on the 98 Balnaves. 2000 Majella Cabernets isn't the greatest example of the line and might not improve from here, but should hold a few years yet if you want it to. Try one soon and see how your batch is going.

Have opened a couple (but for coriole and majella) and all seem okay thus far, not too impressed with the mitchelton wines, definitely agree with myself that they're past use by date.

I agree with your thoughts Brian on Majella 00, it was okay but I get the distinct feeling that too much new oak was used and it hasn't softened as much as I had figured it would. I really like the 05 majella but, can't wait to see it in a few years!

I'll be releasing the 01 coriole on our cellar list but the rest, well I think I might just take them home and enjoy myself at Christmas time.

I may only bring the 01 coriole (will keep some for me) because while the rest are "ok", I don't think they've been well composed and haven't stood the test of time as they should have.

Last had a 2000 Majella Cab two years ago. Looked really good and young too. Purchased on release and stored at 15c.

I had the 98 Zema late last month - thought I posted the TN, but somehow I missed it.

It's traveling really well at the moment, but will hold this form a while too - for that matter most 98 Coonawarra reds I've tried have lived up to the hype on release.

Cheers,
Ian

I had the 2000 Majella a couple of weekends back. It was in fine form and easily has a few years left in it on that showing.
