I, living way over here in the USA am not often in attendance here, but I got spammed by this web cam people too. It sounds to me that someone got hold of the registered users list somehow.

Me too. It would be a bot that logs on, pages through the member list and invokes the PM. Gee these spammers are a pain in the live-web-cam-girls arse.

No. It would not be that at all. You need to do the PM from within the PHBB software. It's a bot. And a clever one. Gavin needs to put some patches on this forum. It does not happen on the others..but what I pain trying to run a business as well as having to deal with this crap.

This doesn't appear to be the only current gremlin. A quick look at the memberlist reveals there are three members (Dave, snels and Great Wine) who have posted 16.7 million posts. You're no longer top of the pile RB - these guys are posting at a rate of 27,000 per day!
It appears that other members have lost post count - perhaps a bot has shifted posts from other members to these users, who joined in 2006 and 2007 and appear to be real... I don't know if that matters to anyone?
