Thats about it except for some overpriced chardy for the up and coming tasting

I bought Seppelt Chalambar 2005 at a good price.
A case of Voyager Cab Merlot 2004. Yoiks ! When the hell will I start drinking this ? It's supposed to be incredible !

i bought as i put some $$ aside for c otago pinot when i tripped down there. nothing impressed me there though in the end so decided to just grab a couple of escarpments for the hell of it instead.

Just bought some:

3 * 06 Escarpment (are there two types as it's not delivered so no idea if it's the Te Rehua or not)
3 * 06 PHI Pinot Noir
6 * 05 Petaluma Cabernet Merlot
6 * 05 Penfolds Bin 389
6 * 07 Kalleske Clarry's
3 * 07 Grosset Polish Hill Riesling
3 * 07 Grosset Watervale riesling

Also got some single bottles to try including 07 Voyager Estate SSB (didn't think much of it. A bit thin and watery and dull fruit. Expecting a lot more vibrancy so won't be buying more) and Innocent Bystander Moscato 375 ml (not tried yet and why is this bottle SO small? 500 ml would have been good)

I thought I'd actually not bought so much lately buit looks like I have.

I'll probably be trying to buy more Cote Rotie from 1999, 2003 and 2005. I was gob-smacked by the Gaillard Rose Pourpre '03 (Jancis gave it 18.5 and I could see why). It's quite middle-weight compared to a typical Shiraz style but quite stunning ...

You're right, only a bottle left of the 04 Voyager, when I'm have a bit of time will hunt for more.
on the other note the 2005 407 is pretty good stuff! I like it alot!

There is their standard Escarpment pinot, and there are now four single vineyard wines (Te Rehua, Kupe, Moana and Voyager). The single vineyards are up around $70, the standard wine around $40.

I am trying to cut down on buying and the cellar, I've been trying to cut back on consumption with a noticable health and temper benefit (only 2 glasses a night is on the boring side but it has been worth it)

Ah ha. Well, I got the bog standard $40 jobbies. Still, happy with those based on a few good reviews. Might have to investigate the single vineyard ones though.

Yeah, a friend brought one of these around and I was so impressed I went straight out and bought six. They have been on special at a major chain but you could probably get them here too, thinking about it.

Bloody delicious! There's a tasting note on one of the sunday posts a couple of weeks back.

I bought the half bottle Basket Press principally for myself (naturally) but I've actually given a couple away to Kiwi visitors to try a real red - payback for the great Central Otago Pinots we drink when I visit Wellington
