Hi Folks,

I was sorting through a friends cellar today, recording what he had, etc. Lots of Aussies from 70's through to 80's.
One wine I saw was a Penfolds Bin 28 Kalimna Shiraz 1970. I've done a quick search for a tasting note on here, but no luck. What's "Rewards of Patience" say about it ?
1983 Bin 389 was in there as well, and the 1982 Wynns John Riddoch. Looks in good nick too...sigh...! I'll have to invite myself over for dinner !
Also, Chateau Mouton Rothschild 1979...anyone know what that might be like ?

The highlights were a bunch of old Morris table wines and fortifieds. Tokays, muscats, and VP's.

Cheers,

Cuttlefish

To quote:

"Brick red. Developed pruney/meaty/earthy/leather aromas. The palate is rich and deep with ripe prune/chocolate/earthy fruit and ample tannins."
Drink Now (as in 'right this minute!' circa 2004)

Wayno, thank you very much for that. Where are you quoting from ?
I'm just curious as to whether that tasting note was from Auswine. I'd searched but come up empty handed.

Cheers again :D

Would have been from Penfolds Rewards of Patience tasting 2004 I think.
