What to do with an opened bottle of port?

Good afternoon,
For my first post I wanted to ask for some advice.
I opened a bottle of Vintage Port last night, unfortunately it was unfinished.
Without continuing to drink it tonight...is there any other options for storing the remainder?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Put it in the fridge if you don't think you'll finish it within a week.
Cheers

P.S. WELCOME!!

Yeah, seal it and keep it in the fridge and it'll be good for a long time.

I'm no expert but I thought VP would be good for 2-4 weeks if you just put the cork back in and store in a cool dark place.
Obviously the fresher the better but should still be in fair to good condition for 2 weeks and drop away over the next 2.
But as I said, I'm no expert.

Yeah, actually vintage port is a little different to other fortified wines that will last quite some time in the bottle, like tawny ports, muscats, etc.
Treat more like a normal red wine. If you can pour the remainder into a smaller bottle to reduce oxidisation, that would be good. I guess keeping it in the fridge would help but you'd want to take it out well before drinking the rest and bring it back closer to room temp. With the cooler weather we're having, you may not need the fridge. I'd put it back in the cellar myself.
Vintage port should usually be consumed over days not weeks.

Personally I just recork (never use a different cork) and put back in the cellar. For restaurants, we usually get 19-22 days out of the port storing it like this, once opened. In the fridge, you can get up to 2 months with some ports.. depends on the sediment.
Best bet - if you live in a hot place, fridge it!
