Majella Sparkling Shiraz 2004 - rave reviews

To all Vayniacs,
Having always enjoyed - Sparkling Shiraz, I found a past episode from Gary Vaynerchuk's USA great wine tasting daily records : see : home page http://tv.winelibrary.com and the specific one which had the Majella .....

So the question : has anyone enjoyed 1) Majella Sparkling 2004 to the extent Gary did and 2) Seen / enjoyed Wine Library aussie reviews on line from the site above ?

I didn't check that out but I can say we had a bottle of this at Christmas and it was pretty dang good. I'd suggest it punched in the same ring as the Rockfords Black we had too.

Had it on two occasions. I like the stelvin. For me its still at the top of the middle rankers. The top echelon of SS is ahead i.e. Rockford, Seppelt Show, even the Elderton and Ashton Hills. Yet to try the Castagna.
I would put it on par with the Seppelt Silverband perhaps and would need reappraisal to see which is better

Spot on with the other ones you mentioned, for me the Seppelt Show Reserve is a killer. My best ones at home are the 1994, which they bottled some in 'crown seals, and from tastings these are a bit better, than the traditional cork ones that I have (of the same vintage).
When I searched out for the Majella SS - again suprised to find the 2004 in both cork and crown , so got some of each.

Oops, crownie not stelvin I meant. Yes the 04 was sealed under both as Prof Lynn was concerned of overseas acceptance but for the 05 vintage has gone crownies all the way as far as I am aware.
