Had this last nite courtesy of my good frd, Doc.

Drank straight fr the btl.

Nose: Deep, creammy cedar & currants(It took 2 hrs+ to opened up) Oozes with class.

Palate: Full blown and rich with excellent varietal defination. Cloak with firm, drying tannins. After 2hrs, the tannins became powdery fine and mouth-coating. The Merlot components flooded the mid-palate with plummy characteristic. Multi-layered, the intense flavours were extremely persistence.

Lenght: After swallowing this elixir, it ripples in my palate for almost a minute.

This wine is clearly not ready. Given time in the cellar(conservatively 10yrs) this wine will destined for greatness.
Miles ahead of their previous 2000 vintage which I found dissapointing with the flavours subsided toward the end palate.

C'mon Ric & Brian

I would have expected that one of you would have commented on members of this illustrious forum no drinking from (at least Esse) glasses.

Having a bottle of DM now Martin.

Concur with your notes.

Sadly, my 01 Cullen's all reside in the MidEast and I will be the first fool to drink my allocation.

Cullens is an absolute waste to drink in it's first five years IMHO.
