I was given a bottle of this in about 2002 or 2003 from the winery. I can't find any tasting notes on it. I recently saw the JH notes for the 01, 02 & 03 but no '00. Nothing special about the other vintages at around 88pts. But didn't know if anyone had any thoughts on how this wine may be. It has been cellared the whole time in an underground cellar in the dark and good temp... Matt

I had a bottle of 2000 Palandri Shiraz last month and I think it was pretty good. I didn't think it had any improvement left in it but it was not past it. Nothing else really memorable about it.

Thanks Sharkey. Was yours a 750ml? So I guess the magnum still might have a few years left. But I better start drinking some of these magnums I have otherwise it will be a waste.

Yes, 750ml. I couldn't say when to open the mag, but judging by my bottle it shouldn't be declining.

You can contact Sarah Siddons ( wine maker for the last 7 ? years ) at palandri at
info@palandri.com.au
Hope this helps , I tasted the range of there wines a few weeks ago and found them on whole to be well made wines , no real long term cellaring prospects .

Sarah Siddon (Sids) Came back to me and confirmed to get into this wine. So it was drunk on Friday. It really opened up after the first half hour - hour. Didn't decant as didn't have my decanter with me. Usally, I bring my good wines out of the cellar and take home to drink and dad doesn't have a decanter. Anyway, typical shiraz characters but very well integrated with some lovely chocolate and pepper tones with underlying plums, dark fruits. Not heavy on the palate but a well lasting finish. Wish we'd had a nother bottle as I'd say the mag would go another few years easily.
