2006 Kabminye Barossa Valley Zinfandel (screwcap): Very dark to inky purple. Intruiging floral nose of chocolaty apricots, plums and a little mint, only after a long breathe showing familar Zin characters of green/raisins. I expected to be up for a flogging from the palate but it turns out to be very civilized, the 16% alcohol just giving a little warmth mid-palate, but disappearing on the dark, chocolaty finish. Rick Glastonbury thinks it's the best wine he’s ever made - I disagree, although I still think it’s a great and interesting Zinfandel.

Cheers,
Ian

I tried this wine at their cellar door recently. When moving on to the other wines. I found some of the aromatics lingered in the glass from the Zinfandel. I recommend that anyone tasting their range ask for a new glass when moving on from the Zinfandel.
