Torzi Matthews Frost Dodger Shiraz 2005

Powerful floral aromas accompanied by smoky camphor, liquorice, fennel and spice.

In the mouth, black and red berries with the usual spiciness, earth, aniseed and bitter chocolate supported by fine tannins. Nice balance with a long sexy, smoky, savoury finish.

94/100

2005 Torzi Matthews Frost Dodger Shiraz.

Deep crimson in colour with incredibly intense and broad aromas of sweet ripe fruit on the nose that displays hints of raisins and choco-mocca, lovely. These intense aromas are complimented by concentrated broad flavours of sweet ripe dark fruits. This fruit density and accompanying high alcohol has been achieved through an ancient Italian practice of semi-drying the fruit on racks prior to the crush. The wine also displays the trademark Torzi Matthews perfect mingling of American and French oak. It is beautifully balanced, finishing long with velvet smooth tannins. For those who love a big Shiraz style without to much pepper or tannin grip, this is a pearler. Fantastic wine and highly recommended.

Cheers,
Maria
