Sheep Trained to Clean Vineyard Weeds

HOPLAND, Calif. - Call them mutton mowers. University researchers are training sheep to clean up vineyard weeds but stay off the grapes.

Seems like wooly thinking to me, but I bet it becomes a big hit in New Zealand!

Miniature sheep could work pretty well on some sites, as they only stand about 60cm tall, so can't reach the cordon wire. I've not been able to find a supplier in Australia though. Supposedly they make for one-bite cutlets as well.

Why not just raise the cordon wire?
