Glass cork (vino-lok) featured on my podcast

Normally I don't want to clutter up this forum by self-promoting... but this week I thought people might want to have a heads up on our current episode.

The reason being that we look (with close ups) at the cellar door/mailing list Henry's Seven from Henschke which uses the 'glass cork' (or more correctly vino-lok) closure that many are suggesting will go into use on Hill of Grace, Grange and other top end wines.

It's a very funky closure, and as far as I know this is the first video available showing a close up of the closure.

I saw these at Henschke's the other week. Very interesting, wonder what extra cost they add to a bottle.
They seem to seal very well also.

The people at Henschke that I've spoken to suggest that it's roughly au $1 per closure... which is very similar to what they are currently paying for top range corks.

The real cost to most producers would be getting bottles that accept the closure correctly, as the lip is a bit wider than a standard bottle to ensure the correct seal.
