Hi all,

I'm visiting Adelaide in late June and was wondering if anyone was interested in hooking up to share some wine and a meal on the evening of Friday 29 June ?

Perhaps 707 would be interested in sharing a Sparkling Shiraz ?

I think he's referring to the bottle of Rockford you 'borrowed' at the last offline at Casa Mia, Steve.

Ian, I know what Mark's referring to, that's why I asked the silly question!
Also, I didn't "borrow it", on Mark's behalf I rescued it from the restaurant a few days later. It's still in my cellar awaiting Mark's reappearance in Adelaide.

Sure... put me down but I don't think I will have time to organise it.. I am a bit flat out organising the Noons tasting for the week before.

I may be in town aswell.

You guys put on a great show. How about a top notch offline again with excellent wines?

I believe I'll be available and would love to attend one?

Anyone volunteering to organise?

A tentative "I'm in" but I've no idea how to go about sussing something like this out, so a "shotgun not organising" from me!

Somewhere a bit classier, albeit more expensive of course?

Depends on how high that notch will be.

I really enjoyed the format at SOHO last time. I was able to give the wines more of my attention, rather than trying to battle for the last piece of Oyster Omelette.

Anybody been to Georges on Waymouth recently? I understand they have a mezzanine that could be booked.

I did Soho Saturday night, excellent again and because they're wine lovers themselves, they know exactly what you want to do. They also do fixed price menus which makes it really easy.

I may not be able to make it as I have a Coonawarra commitment late June but I'll drop off Mark's Black Shiraz to Gavin who can no doubt chill it ready for dinner!

I'm keen, and so is Sue.

Not fussed about destination.

SOHO is consistently excellent and definitely fits into the 'classier' category that Gavin is suggesting.

If whoever is arranging this one decides to have it there make sure to mention it's for the Auswine Forum and I'm sure we'll get pretty much the same deal as before (set entree, main, shared cheese platters & all corkage for around $50/head).

I think a couple of people have mentioned the Greedy Goose are keen on hosting an offline there, so that could be another option depending on what kind of deal we can get - 'classier' venues are great, but I think we should stick to a limit of $50-60/head considering what our other options are for that kind of money (or much less). If it's too much I'd rather spend it on the wine to be blunt.

I suspected you would be here for the Stonewallers Jamie and would be a chance for this one - it will be great to catch up with you again. Caramello anyone?

I would be interested in an offline too but am knee deep in law exams for the next month precluding me from organising.

Yep, definitely keen, maybe +1.

Thought Soho was fantastic last time, very happy to go again. The Sauce or Urban Bistro might also be worth a look if we wanted a change, but Soho would definitely be easier from the point of view that they've already organised a similar event successfully for an appropriate price.

ps Thanks++ to whomever organises this; no time in my life to take that responsibility at this stage, but will organise one at some stage...

I'm a near certainty now.

Happy with a top restaurant and very good wines.

I'm in, and I'll look into organising. Will call the Greedy Goose and get some idea of their menus/pricing/corkage. Soho was good and, as pointed out, they are familiar with the format.
