TN 2005 Serrat Pinot Noir

I had been waiting for this, and Gavin came through with the goods today (literally).
A tiny hamlet in Yarra Valley, little known. Close grown - 8800 vines per hectare. Minimal intervention in the making.
We had their 05 Chardonnay at our recent Adelaide Offline in April, and it was very classy. I had high hopes for this, and well, I wasn't disappointed.
The colour - bright and shiny, light red, typical Pinot colour, almost alive.
Lovely aromas or ripe cherries, and wild strawberries, and some macerated fruit, and game.
Silky smooth mouthfeel, light and dark cherries, stalk, earth, herbs and game, crisp acidity, firm, dusty tannins, long lasting finish. Not forward, beautifully balanced, not too much fruit. Perfume is long lasting too.
This is one serious Pinot, built to go the distance. Lovely structure.
94/100 - Delightful / Stunning
Screwcap
13.5% Alcohol
Drink 2009-2015
$30 from Gavin.
