Not just the Aussie chains with dodgy offers...

Post by Ian S »

Went into Oddbins in UK a couple of months ago, with a view to getting some 1998 Seppelt Original Sparkling Shiraz. The assistant gave me good news ... it had just gone on offer from £8.99 down to £6.99.

However they hadn't any in stock yet - but don't worry, they'd order it.

Of course when they checked the system, there was none of it available to order, as there was none available in the country. Oddbins customer services were not very helpful, offering me the possibility that they may have some of the wine in a branch 150-200 miles away. Up to the punter to chase round the country obviously though.

I pop into my local branch again this weekend and guess what? Bottles of it lined up on the shelf, back at £8.99. Weird that.
