Do you have a section of your forum that deals with questions about winemaking, rather than just wine?

Wouldnt that be the Australian Viticulture Forum?

Wizz - viticulture is growing the vines, winemaking is making the wine, oenology is the science of wine and winemaking.

The role of a viticulturalist is completely different to that of a winemaker which is completely different to that of an oenologist. They are all related, because they deal with the process of turning grapes into wine, but they are very different occupations. So, to answer you question, no, the Australian Viticulture Forum does not deal with winemaking questions.

A forum dedicated to winemaking topics would be great...we might be able to teach some of the "winemakers" who post on here a thing or two!

so the conclusion is yes there is room for a dedicated section on winemaking. If any one knows of one please let me know.

Please advise if people are interested in it, and would be actively involved?

If so, I woul be happy to create and host one?

My take on this is that there is nothing to stop people using the All About Wine forum for winemaking related questions. This has the advantage of not closing these topics off from discussions of individual wines, grapes, styles and recent drinking.

I'd be with pstarr here. Could we just precis winemaking posts with the letters WMR (winemaking related), or some such and keep using the main forum.

Just change the name of the Viticulture forum to Viticulture & Winemaking...

And take of the "Australian" word, seems to be a fair bit of NZ input...

Surely 11 responses and not all of them positive is exactly a persuasive argument. Just change the name of the viticulture forum.
