Hi all,
I am going to the barossa this weekend on a buisness trip and have sunday morning free. I am staying at the novotel barossa resort on golf links road Rowland flat and will probably not have transport for the morning. Long shot I know but any suggestions as to cellar doos to visit would be greatly appreciated. I understand rockford is closed on Sundays as I was hoping to get a chance to get there, other recommendtions within walking distance?? I am a Barossa virgin so any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

There is nothing within walking distance apart from Grant Burge and Jacobs Creek straight across the paddock, and that is still a fair walk.

Rockford is open Sundays now.

Rockford is a long walk, but if you can make it that far, Charlie Melton is only a few 100m further. Plus they have most wines on taste - last visit to Rockford there was almost nothing available.

If you could hotwire a car ....

Charley Melton and Kabminye just a bit further on Krondorf Road. Both worth the effort. Kabminye just released some new wines. I have it on good authority that the Grenache Carignan is the go along with some interesting sweet styles.

Why not get a cab to Rockford and stroll to the other two. Call a cab to pick you up or arrange for your first driver to pick you up at a set time.

With the Barossa Valley vintage festival in full swing at present (finishes this Sunday I think) I wold be surprised if there are not some small buses available from the Novotel to transport you around the valley. Why not phone or email the hotel and ask them what's happening. I'm going to the Vintage Ball on Sat. night and to a seriously good breakfast at Peter Lehmann's on Sunday. This is open to all, so you could call P Lehmann and find out about that too. Will be a wonderful weekend to be in the Valley as the weather looks good too.
