Which is a better vintage - 1996 or 1998?

The 1996 is slighty better than the 1998. I still have 6 packs each of 1983, 1986, 1990, 1994, 1996, 1998 & 1999 of the Bin 707.

This is how I rate them:

1996, 1998, 1986, 1990, 1983, 1999 before the 1994. The 1996 still has a lot of 'baby fat' - the oak is very evident. My last tasting for the 96 was about 6 weeks ago.

The '96 by a long way. Close to perfect. the '98 is very, very good, but too ripe and lacks the balance of the '96.
