Corked imports

Post by Adam »

You have been nursing a bottle of good french wine for over 20 years...you open it and its corked  ...what do you do??

Anyone successfully received a replacement from an overseas producer??

Hi Adam

I gave one.

That said, the importer here still carried the range even though a newer vintage, and were co operative.

I arranged for the customer to get a wine of their choice to the same value, and the distributor in return gave me a credit for that amount. The customer also took the bottle into the distributor's interstate office, so lots of things had to happen together for this to work.

I was pleased as it gave my customer good service.

In your scenario though, it sounds very tricky indeed.
