Wine & The Cold

Hello All,

I am getting over a dodgy secondary chest infection (what most would call a cold) after fighting off a nasty virus earlier in the week. Due to this, the last drop of wine I had was last Saturday night. (No, I am not writing this post to make you cry with pity for my situation :) )

As detailed above, I am now in the final stages of a cold. I still have a "sometimes messy" cough but my nose is clear and my desire to drink the true "liquid of life" is extremely high. So, should I crack open a good bottle to celebrate the end of the working week?

What are your opinions/feelings about the health effects of wine on a person (me) just about to get over a cold? We all know wine is good for keeping away a cold (I do not want any replies against this as my wife might see  ) but it always catches up to us!

Love to hear your thoughts and about your experiences,
Adair

You should try the experiment and post the results :)

Adair,

Your lungs can be so congested that you can hardly breath and you can still enjoy a good drop. The most important factor is a clear nose. Without a good sense of smell your taste buds are no where near as effective.

Try drinking say OJ whilst holding your nostrils closed and see how much you can taste. This will prove it to you.
