Hi!
I am an italian university student, and I am working on my thesis on wine advertising in print press in 3 countries, namely Italy, Australia and Germany.
I didn't manage to find what I need about Australia, so I was wondering if anyone can help me...
Have you ever noticed wine ads in magaznes and periodicals? I mean magazines such as The bulletin, the Women's Weekly, the National Geographic and so on.
your help would really get me out of trouble!!!

Yes (Bulletin and some others you don't mention), but I've never bought from those. If you ask more detailed/specific questions you may get more detailed answers. It'll be a pretty bare thesis if this is the detail you are asking for.

i've got a few magazines here.

cleo (young women's magazine) has nothing.

home beautiful (design and renovation magazine) has a recipes section, and at the end of the section is a "wines to match" feature, but no ads.

marie claire has a full page brown brothers moscato ad, a double page wolf blass red label sparkling red and barokes canned wine (are you serious??).

madison (kind of in between the cleo and marie claire markets) has a feature on baby showers, moet piccolos are placed in photos, but not mentioned, and there is a single wine suggestion in their food section. just after their wine section is a full page of wines, a "luxe to less" feature which gives a range of products for varying prices.

i think wine marketing in australia is generally pretty outdated. it has a lot more mainstream appeal (or potential appeal) than i think marketers give it credit for, and i think younger people and women are undervalued market segments.

well thanks for some useful info.
What I need, more in detail, is the magazine title, (if possible with the issue number and date) and what wine ads are inside.
That's all I need.
